The Late Night TV shows featured a variety of performers last night. Check ’em out.
“Elvis Costello made his 27th, and most likely last, appearance overnight on the Late Show with David Letterman. The British singer-songwriter performed a medley of Nick Lowe’s “When I Write the Book” and his very own ‘80s hit, “Everyday I Write the Book. Costello will release his memoirs “Unfaithful Music & Disappearing Ink” later in October”
Meanwhile, Chicago and Earth, Wind & Fire performed a medley for Jimmy Kimmel Live.
Marcus Mumford: “Uhh, about the name Mumford & Sons…”
Marcus Mumford says he has misgivings about naming his band “Mumford & Sons.” In an interview with New Music Express, Mumford says:
“I definitely regret the band name. If I’d known that it was going to go this way I would have wanted to call it anything other than my last name. We thought about changing it, but it’s a bit late now. The success happened really fast. We have to get comfortable with that, and not say: ‘F**k it, we want to be a tiny pub band”
Mumford & Sons 3rd album “Wilder Eyes” comes out on May 4th. The band is trying to prevent a leak of their new music by banning fans from bringing cell phones to a last-minute show at Brighton Dome Corn Exchange this coming Monday April 27th. Read more here.
