Dark rock four-piece Creepoid returned to their hometown of to Philly with a performance at Underground Arts on Thursday night. They’re getting ready for the release of their latest work, Cemetery Highrise Slum, which comes out June 23 via Collect Records.

In their latest single “Dried Out,” it’s clear they have no plans of going back to their earlier dream-pop / psychedelic rock noise; this track is booming and heavy. Its experimental, post-apocalyptic riffs, give heavy nods to 90’s rockers Slowdive and Mogwai. With dark influences throughout the track and lyrics like “Crack in the reservoir, dust clouds rolling in,” it seems we’re in store for an important, reflective record.

The show Thursday night kicked off the band’s spring tour on which they’ll finish May 9 with a performance at Austin Psych Fest. Take a listen to the new Creepoid track, “Dried Out” below.
