Quirky and Entertaining: Cash Masters new “Gigolo Gold” is hip-hop comedy gold
Everything you’d expect from Jimmy Luxury (Tommy Rome Orchestra) and MC Maxx (Black Landlord) you get on their new cut “Gigolo Gold.” Their Cash Masters collaboration is two years deep at this point, and has spawned some insane and infectious singles and even a collaborative EP. Comical to the core, the duo continues to supply fresh humor to the Philly hip hop scene and beyond.
Rejecting hip-hop’s status quo of larger-than-life bravado, Cash Masters take a page from Weird Al: “Man cannot live by ranch dressing alone / but that seems to be the only kind you have in your home.” Clearly not meant to intimidate, the wow factor here comes from outlandish punchlines.
