Local seven-piece instrumental group Darla are fast movers. Just four months after releasing their sophomore record Darla Forever! the group of Drexel students are prepping for a split effort with Philly friends The Reflexes, which will feature a brand new live take of the former’s track “It.” We are happy to premiere the in-studio video that accompanies the song below.

Originally placed on Darla’s June 2014 EP Movies! Movies! Movies!, the new version of “It” puts the band in the creatively experimental and collaborative environment of a live studio. From the band:

After releasing the live video version of “Pretty Mess” in the fall we realized that releasing alternate live versions of our songs provided us with the opportunity to show people a different side of Darla and how we have been developing as a group. Our song “It” has gone through many changes since it’s first release and continues to do so to this day. We are excited to be able to make several releases chronicling this song’s development.

The split 7″ between Darla and The Reflexes will be released in the coming months through 3rd Rail Records. Watch the premiere of “It” below and stay tuned for information about a new EP from the band coming this summer.
