Singer-songwriter Richard Thompson returns with a new album, Still on June 23rd. Produced by Jeff Tweedy, the album features a core trio of Thompson, bassist Taras Prodaniuk, and drummer Michael Jerome – with contributions from guitarist Jim Elkington of Jeff’s band Tweedy and harmony vocalists Liam Cunningham, his sister Sima Cunningham (both of Tweedy), and Siobhan Kennedy.

About working with Thompson, Tweedy says:

Richard’s been one of my favorite guitar players for a very long time,” stated Tweedy. “When I think about it, he’s also one of my favorite songwriters and favorite singers. He’s the Ultimate Triple Threat. Getting to work closely with him on this record was a truly rewarding experience, not to mention a great thrill. And he keeps alive my streak of working exclusively with artists who make me look good as a producer.

Richard plays the Keswick Theatre on June 18th.

Below, listen to “”Beatnik Walking” from Thompson’s forthcoming release.
