As was revealed in their Key Studio Session write-up this week, the members of RFA were still in high school when we discovered their EP Just Don’t Turn the Lights On last year. They also didn’t make the cut for their school’s Battle of the Bands, which baffled us. As they showcase on their session, this band knows how to make a jam. Check out “Teenage Love Song” below and get the full set here. They’ll play Mantua Yacht Club with Steady Hands, Roof Doctor, Castle of Genre and Matty Carlock on June 5th.

Folkadelphia welcomed Heavy Blonde into the studio for this week’s live session. The Scranton / Brooklyn outfit released their “harmony heavy” Sun EP last fall, recorded by The Spinto Band’s Nick Krill and impressive enough for the Folkadelphia crew to book studio time with them immediately. Check out the resulting session below.

Austin’s Abram Shook is a trained jazz musician who carried his skills into the world colorful psych pop. “Understood” comes from his second LP Landscape Dream, which will be released next week. Stream and download the song via Soundcloud.

Local rockers The Stammer released “Hey Joan” this week, the first single from an upcoming LP. They balanced the lyrics’ heavy material with an upbeat, poppy sound that is perfect for summer drives. Stream and download the song below.
