The third night of NonCOMM 2015 has begun! To kick it off, Irish singer/songwriter Gavin James brought the sweet sound of stripped-down folk to World Cafe Upstairs.

With a falsetto that gives Bon Iver a run for his money, James’ voice resonated throughout the entire Cafe, silencing the crowd and holding their attention as if it were made of fragile glass.

Even with his rainy-day songs, James wasn’t rid of humor. He lightened the mood with jokes about cursing and even dedicated an unnamed song to the city of Philadelphia.

In addition to a beautiful version of “The Book of Love” by The Magnetic Fields, he played songs off of his first studio EP, For You,due out May 19th. It precedes his full-length album, due out later this year.
