Before celebrating the release of their sophomore LP Heartlands at Franky Bradley’s a few weeks ago, Song Dogs debuted the album’s first single “Sun in the Valley.” It was a loping, harmony-laden ballad that slowly builds, a backporch jam for a summer evening. Now we have the premiere of “Forevermore.”

This one is the lighters-in-the-air moment of the record, downtempo and swaying with punches of horns and powerful vocals. It’s evocative of the LP’s title, open-spaced and steeped in the soul of American music traditions, expanding the “prairie rock” of the band’s 2013 debut Wild Country. Listen to the premiere of “Forevermore” below and see Song Dogs live when they play at World Cafe Live on June 4th and at Spruce Street Harbor Park on June 11th.
