Ryan Tennis in his video for “The Valley”

Similar to the serene aura that Hawaii’s Isreal Kamakawiwo’ole created in his rendition of “Somewhere Over The Rainbow,” Ryan Tennis‘s “The Valley” smoothly captures the vibe of another culture through music.

The Philadelphia native is joined by the group El Caribefunk – who spent last summer in residence in his South Philly home base, The Clubhouse – to deliver bilingual verses that would both satisfy any English and Spanish speaker. Shot in the heart of El Caribefunk’s native Colombia, the video explores forests, countrysides, and city areas as Tennis takes in the atmosphere and meets locals.  A great song that feels both traditional and modern, its almost impossible not to feel instantly transported when listening to it.

Ryan Tennis and El Caribefunk have some shows this summer that include a return to the Philly Folk Fest among others.  For more information on shows visit Ryan’s website here, watch the video for the song below and download it by right clicking here.
