mewithoutYou is releasing its sixth studio album, Pale Horses,  in June. Following up on the lead single “Red Cow,” the band premiered a new song called “D Minor” via NPR Music this week. It features the  weaving of storytelling and heavy rock that fans of the band have become accustomed to, and this particular track draws influence from Neutral Milk Hotel. Lead vocalist Aaron Weiss tackles his clashes between sexuality and faith as he sings: “This is not the first time that God has died.”

The group’s upcoming release is a change of scenery for them in more ways than one – it’s a shift stylistically as well as commercially (this is their first release with Run For Cover Records). While June 16th brings excitement for those awaiting new material from the Philly outfit, local fans will have to wait to see the band live, as they do not have a Philly tour date currently scheduled. Check out their current tour itinerary here.
