PREMIERE: Listen to Dirty Dollhouse’s new single “Sidecar”
It’s an exciting week for Dirty Dollhouse. The local trio of Chelsea Mitchell, Amber Twait and Vanessa Winters will perform at XPN’s Live at Lunch series at Dilworth Park tomorrow, and their new single “Sidecar” premieres on the Local Show tonight.
“Sidecar,” produced by The Lawsuits’ Brian D.A. Strouse, is Dirty Dollhouse’s first release since their debut studio EP 25 Shadescame out last December. It blends country-pop melodies with subtle three-part harmonies as Mitchell sings about entering into a new relationship. From Mitchell:
“Sidecar” is about trying to ignore that feeling of relationship déjà vu. At some point we all wind up in a pattern where we’re essentially dating close iterations of the same person, even though we’ve already been there and the relationship failed. Why? Because it always starts with an attraction to something familiar, predictable, and comfortable, like re-watching movies you’ve seen a hundred times. It’s very comfortable to know how a story will end.
