While the creme de la creme of July shows is of course our own #XPNFest (happening from July 24th to July 26th on the Camden Waterfront), there are still 27 other days of the month and even more shows to sort through. We have picked the top five Philadelphia concerts you need to see in July; check them out below.

1. Mudhoney: These ’90s grunge icons headline Union Transfer with Pissed Jeans on July 9th. The show will kick off with Amanda X, making for a stellar lineup. The last time Mudhoney played in the area was a show in 2008 at the Chameleon Club, so we’re pretty excited for their return. Watch music video for “Good Enough” below, and get tickets here.

2. Lou: The indie group opens The Swollen Fox‘s Fifth Anniversary show with The Lawsuits and Commonwealth Choir at Johnny Brenda’s on July 11th. Lou started as a project by solo artist Tess Emma, who wanted some company on the stage, and is only continuing to expand its following. Listen to their Live at Woodbrook session below, and buy tickets for their show here.

3. Lake Street Dive: These #XPNFest alums will play a free show at Long’s Park on July 19th. The show is part of the park’s Summer Music Series, which showcases a different musician each Sunday rain or shine. Of course, we know Lake Street Dive can kill it in an outdoor venue, so be sure to check this show out (more details here). Watch them perform “Stop Your Crying” at last month’s Mountain Jam Festival below.

4. OK Fest: Now this event has a slight schedule conflict with a certain other (#XPN)Fest, but the lineup is so killer and the reason for putting it together so important we had to share! This is the second year of OK Fest, this time three days long instead of last year’s two. The weekend will feature performances by Hop Along‘s Frances Quinlan, Eskimeaux, Amanda X, Sheer Mag, Girlpool, and more, and a portion of the ticket proceeds benefit Attic Youth Center, a safe haven for LGBTQ youth. The fest runs July 24th to the 26th, and you can get your tickets here. Watch Eskimeaux perform “I Admit I’m Scared” below.

5. Milky Chance: The electropop duo will headline the Skyline Stage at the Mann Center on July 28th. We’ve been excited about Milky Chance since they released “Stolen Dance” in 2013, and now that they’ve taken off in popularity it will be a treat to see how far they’ve come. Watch the music video for “Stolen Dance” below, and get tickets here.
