Illinois head to the beach in new video for “Summer”
For most people, summer is the most nostalgic season. Memories of beach trips with friends, vacations with family, sleep-away camp, melting popsicles, lemonade stands, first loves and late nights on the boardwalk occupy special places in our hearts, representing a time of year when anything is possible. Illinois capture those feelings perfectly in the new video for their song “Summer,” taken from February’s Shine LP.
The Bucks County band filmed the video in Wildwood, NJ, sneaking under the boardwalk and cruising around the neighborhood on their bikes. All of the tell-tale signs of a great summer are featured in the clip: a carousel ride, cannonballs into the pool, dog on the deck and sand between toes. Paired with bright synths and catchy piano melody, it’s a slice of life you’ll want to play over and over.
