How do you follow up playing an opening slot for The Rolling Stones? Some bands might need some major r&r after such an exhilarating experience but The Districts are barreling on with another run of international festival dates. For those of here at home, we can catch up with the band via a new acoustic cover of David Bowie’s “Ashes to Ashes.”

Premiered by Consequence of Sound, the Lititz band’s version of the Scary Monsters (and Super Creeps) song is downtempo and a bit more introspective, with reedy drums and solemn vocals.

From CoS:

“David Bowie has countless awesome songs, but we’ve all always really loved ‘Ashes to Ashes’,” frontman Robby Grote tells Consequence Of Sound. “Being full of slap bass and synthesizers we thought it would also make for a fun one to strip down to an acoustic version.”

Listen to the song below. The Districts play their largest hometown headlining gig to date on November 6th at the Electric Factory; tickets and information are available here.
