Candice Martello ducks to avoid a living room crowd surfer in Hemming’s “Some of my Friends” video

We’re super psyched for the release of Hemming‘s self-titled debut here at The Key – it’s in stores both digital and physical this Friday – and we’re doubly psyched to find that the Philly rock project fronted by Candice Martello just released an incredibly fun music video for the best song on the album.

“Some of My Friends” appeared in a scaled-back, pensive solo version on Hemming’s recent Key Studio Session, but on the album it’s an absolutely ecstatic singalong pop jam – lots of voices joining in on the “woah-oh-ohs,” big chords and big buildups and bright melodies making for an overall uplifting number about the various paths we travel in life as well as the ties that bi-yi-yi-yind us together.

The music video is equally endearing – basically a big house party featuring representatives from Cayetana as well as Guild Shows, crowd surfers in the living room and bros spitting beer as Martello walks a gauntlet path through the house, trying desperately to sing along without cracking up. Such a positive vibe: check it out below, and look for the album on Friday when it drops via Linda Perry’s Custard Records.
