Local hotshots Dogs on Acid released another new track, “Make It Easy”, off their debut LP yesterday. The record is due on August 28 via Jade Tree.

Featuring Peter Helmis of Algernon Cadwallader, Joe Reinhart of Hop Along, and Nate Dionne of Snowing/Glocca Morra, they’re the scene’s most underground supergroup to date. And it’s an understatement to say that there’s major hype for this upcoming album.

On this new track, the guys toss their emo roots in favor of slacker rock anthems. The song starts out with slurry, psychedelic wails, then immediately breaks into Helmis’ creative lyrics. Leading into the chorus, he whines “I want time to be all mine,” which will definitely be a crowd favorite to sing along to. Chummy and chunky guitar compliments the weird garage-rocking vibe. But even with this unorthodox style, it should make sense – they are called Dogs on Acid, after all. If you want a taste of that garage-rocking vibe, revisit their performance at DBTS below.

You can see Dogs on Acid and a bunch of other cool bands at this year’s 2nd Street Festival, this Sunday (August 2nd). Don’t miss it.
