Earlier this year the Asheville, North Carolina indie-folk group River Whyless released an enchanting self-titled EP. Chosen by David Dye as one of his World Cafe: Next artists, and Paste Magazine proclaimed River Whyless as a group “on the verge of a very exciting musical journey that you’d be foolish to miss out on.” No arguments here.

River Whyless’s new song, “The Hunt,” is a gentle beauty that swells with emotion. The band’s exacting harmonies float on top of Halli Anderson’s melodic violin playing, and Ryan O’Keefe’s compassionate guitar playing serves to underscore the sympathetic tribal rhythms of the song. Download the song below, available as a free download for a week.
