Tonight’s Concert Picks: Screaming Females at Union Transfer, Louie Louie at Johnny Brenda’s, Suburban Living at Underground Arts and more

New Brunswick rock mainstays Screaming Females will play Union Transfer tonight in support of this year’s Rose Mountain LP. They released a new video for opening track “Empty Head” last month, which follows a cast of paper cutout creatures around an industrial city. Local quartet Louie Louie open up at Johnny Brenda’s for JJL tonight. The group released its first cassette single in July, the 60s-influenced “Out In the Streets” partnered with psych / surf pop b-side “Miles Around.” Following up the debut, Louie Louie are packing in an east coast this month and tonight marks a midway point. Another local bill is taking over Underground Arts, headlined by Suburban Living and featuring Residuels and Sleek Machine. The event is the benefit after party for this year’s The Dude Hates Cancer bowling tournament, which raises funds for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
