Kiska is not a new band to the Philadelphia rock scene…well, not really. While their self-titled album coming out on October 30 is their first, the personnel have been together for years, just under their previous name Detesto Jones. The name change is significant though, as the band hopes the new album will be enough of a change in sound to warrant a new moniker. To tease the release, Kiska just dropped a new single called “Long Divide.”

The band is named after a small, volcanic island off the coast of Alaska and the band shares many of the islands characteristics. They are still very much a local force in the Philadelphia area looking to grow their influence. Their music, especially the new single, is also an entity you will not hold down, exploding with gut-busting rock and roll energy, looking force its way into your radar. Check out the new single “Long Divide” below – dig into more in the band’s Key Studio Session – and check back for updates on the album and tour.
