Hezekiah Jones have been slowly rolling out tracks from their forthcoming LP In Loving Memory of oosi Lockjaw over the last few months, and they continue this week with the premiere of a video for “How the Wind Loves You,” directed by Daniel Collins.

This song lands midway through the record, following previously shared track “The Dark Heart’s Out” and preceding “Spare the Wicked.” It further unfolds the story that is beginning to take shape, showing a man (poet Blaine Martin) struggling with unrequited love in a lonely cabin. “Wind” is a quiet, thoughtful song with limited instrumentation and gentle fiddle accents that seems to follow the man around, as if it is being respectful of his tender heart.

“Wind” is just one more piece to place in the album’s puzzle, which, as a whole, is an intriguing journey to solve a mystery:

While your first thought might be ‘who is oosi Lockjaw?,’ perhaps the matter at hand is, rather, ‘What does Hezekiah Jones know about oosi Lockjaw?’ It is, admittedly, a subtle distinction, but is it vital to the game that is, as per Henry V (via Sherlock Holmes), afoot; the who, what, and why of that particular line of questioning is the present mystery that both the band and the listener are – fates now entwined – engaged in. Raphael Cutrufello, principal writer and vocalist, shall serve in the Holmes capacity if you – and you know who I’m talking about – will take on the role of the collective Watson in this journey into inquiry entitled: ‘In Loving Memory of oosi Lockjaw.’
