Late last year, Philly rapper Tunji Ige dropped his awesome mixtape The Love Project – not to be confused with A Tribe Called Quest’s 1998 swan song The Love Movement, though it’s equally awesome in its own way – and he’s been pushing (and his name) it hard over the past year. We heard a couple new recordings from Tunji a few weeks back, and today his sights return to Love for the very clever music video for “Ball Is Life,” which showed up on Stereogum today.

Put together by emerging videographer Glassface, the conceit behind the video is that you’re seeing what Tunji sees as he proofs it on his smart phone. So we get dope aerial drone footage of Tunji wandering Philly and the surrounded wooded areas facing periodic interruptions by Twitter and text message notifications sliding onto the frame from above and below. It all builds to a stunning climax (or anti-climax, if you will, but in the context of this video we mean that in a 100% positive sense), and it has to be watched in full to be totally appreciated.

Check it out below, and grab yourself a download of The Love Projecthere.
