Philadelphia indie-punk band Cold Fronts is currently streaming their new record, Forever Whatever, over at the Wall Street Journal. The album will be available October 23rd via Sire Records. The backstory of Cold Fronts’ introduction to Sire Records is quite the industry anomaly. The band was playing a show outside in the rain during Austin’s SXSW music festival in 2013 when Sire Records’ Seymour Stein walked by and noticed how much the audience resonated with the music and performance. The rest, as they say, is history.

Forever Whatever is a fun and catchy album, full of shiny guitars, snappy snares, and singable choruses. While I feel like I’ve heard that phrase from some other West Philly band before, Cold Fronts literally turns it on its head. According to frontman Craig Almquist, the album’s title is meant to capture his “I’m gonna go for my dreams, I’m gonna try and do exactly what I want to do, I’m not gonna let the real world get in the way of my goals” outlook. And that is exactly the feeling you get from listening to the record – a carefree, fun-loving attitude.

Listen to Forever Whatever here, check out the single “Radio” below and celebrate Cold Fronts album release at Johnny Brenda’s on Friday, November 6th. Tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
