Synthpop trio Wet didn’t blow anyone away during their Free at Noon show at World Café Live on Friday, but instead invited them in for a soulful and intimate eight-song set.

Wet is a band making considerable waves since the release of their debut, self-titled EP a couple years ago and are now on the cusp of releasing their debut studio LP, Don’t You with Columbia Records. The band played a handful of songs off the new record including their new single, “Deadwater” which opened the show.

Wet continued the show with a mix of new and old, with most songs highlighting what is without a doubt their greatest strength, the vocal expertise of Kelly Zutrau. Zutrau brings delicate emotion paired with surprising strength to tracks back by subtle guitar playing and a myriad of beats from Joe Valle’s intricate drum machine.
