Central-PA folk four-piece, Tin Bird Choir, just released a fun new single called “Agency.” Describing themselves as “organic, free range, Pennsylvania barn rock,” Tin Bird Choir exude that in “Agency.” With a sing-song, upbeat rhythm, the track feels like a melodic version of an Aesop’s fable conclusion, imparting moral wisdom on someone who has clearly done something wrong. This brief barnyard sing-along feels like it would pair nicely with a hot apple cider while pumpkin-picking by a corn maze.

Band member Eric Hurlock wrote and recorded the track in his basement, which he and wife/fellow bandmate Heather Hurlock refer to as “The Bunker.” Eric played all the instruments on the track, and Heather provided backing vocals while Ernie Tokay from Little Spider’s Studio mixed it. Heather tells us that they plan to record their next album in the same fashion.

The band’s upcoming shows include PA Bacon Fest in Easton, PA with The Yonders, Frog Holler, Manatawny Creek Ramblers, Mason Porter, and Hezekiah Jones on November 8th, as well as a show at Saint Peter’s Bakery on November 28th. Listen to “Agency” below.
