If you missed Zydeco Crossroads last night at World Cafe Live, you have another chance to catch it tonight! The festivities – which celebrate Creole music, Cajun food, and Zydeco dancing – will begin this afternoon with a film screening of Zydeco Crossroads: A Tale of Two Cities by filmmaker Robert Mugge, which will be followed by a panel discussion upstairs. Then after dinner, the entertainment will resume with music from Corey Ledet and His Zydeco BandWayne Singleton and Same Ol 2 Step, and Rosie Ledet. You won’t want to miss out on this night! Get tickets and information at the XPN Concert Calendar. Check out Corey Ledet and His Zydeco Band perform “Boudin Man” for KRVS below.

Philly-by-way-of-Charlottesville punk band Left & Right will be playing at Everybody Hits tonight, midway through their fall tour. The band will be playing their new album, Five Year Plan, front-to-back tonight. Released in early September, Five Year Plan brings heaps of distortion paired with thoughtful lyrics. Don’t miss Left & Right at Everybody Hits tonight; get tickets and show info here. Listen to Five Year Plan below.

The name Laura Palmer at first sounds like the name of a local female singer-songwriter (or at least a character from Twin Peaks). Quite the contrary, Laura Palmer is actually the name of a power pop/punk band from Melbourne, Australia. Heading over to the states after a European tour, the Aussie trio will be performing at Kung Fu Necktie tonight. Listen to the first track off of their upcoming release “Old Souls” below, and get tickets and concert info at the XPN Concert Calendar.
