Pet, formerly known as Snoozer, have just released their final record under their former name. The EP, entitled Life Sucks, has song titles that are reminiscent of childhood – such as “Land Before Time,” “Harriet the Spy,” and “Good Grief” – but the content of the songs are far from saccharine memories. The song topics in Life Sucks are all about being a twenty-something and struggling with the philosophy of time and existentialism. Their “stomp rock” grunge is full of distortion and feedback with vocals that border spoken word. However, groovy basslines and drum beats still push through the noise.

Pet’s first show since their name change will be at Nico Mansion on November 6th. Listen to Life Sucks below and check out the music video they made for their single “Good Grief.”
