Laser Background is a psych-pop band from right here in Philly that sound like they belong back in the ’90s toiling away in Athens, Georgia with the Elephant 6 crew (Apples In Stereo, Neutral Milk Hotel, ect.). The band fuses ’60s inspired psych-pop with some truly strange arrangements to make something all together fascinating. You can check them out tonight at Johnny Brenda’s in support of TEEN and Ava Luna. For more details on the show click here.

Moody post-punkers The Silence Kit have been creating making some of the best a’80s influenced alt-rock in Philly since they began back in 2002. They are currently in the midst of a monthly single series and just this week released an original titled, “This Time”. You can check that out below and see them rock The Pharmacy stage tonight. Head to the XPN Concert Calendar for more details.

Steel City Coffeehouse will come alive with the brilliant folk-urban pop stylings of singer-songwriter Patty Larkin tonight when she takes the stage in support of her 13th studio album, Still Green.
