It’s like the “Blowin’ in the Wind” of this generation, seriously. In the short time since it dropped this summer, there have practically been a bazillion covers, remixes, covers of remixes and remixes of covers of Drake’s uber-catchy megahit “Hotline Bling.” Some people are pissed about it, others are chill with it, and others still contribute to the fire. The latest comes from Philly future-soul singer and guitarist Son Little, who just released his own rendition.

Rather than recreate the pop bounce of the original as some many variants do, main man Aaron Livingston takes the song to to a deep and quiet space, that zone he excels at – his guitar, his whispering voice, and copious amount of vibe that can make a hushed ballad just as sexy as a dancefloor jam. Take a listen below. Son Little headlines Johnny Brenda’s on Friday, November 13th; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.
