Back in October we shared with a track from local hip-hop outfit, Hardwork Movement. The track was the first hint the back gave of an upcoming album and gave listeners a taste of what to expect in the future. This weekend, the guys released a more complete example of their unique ability as songwriters and emcees with the single “The World is Y(ours)”.

A crunchy, vinyl inspired crackle emanates throughout the entire track giving “The World is Y(ours)” a distinctively retro vibe – and true to that, the song is indeed a nod to the 90s classic from Nas. The Hardwork emcees show their skill as lyricists, spitting heady verses above an efficient beat.

Check out “The World is Y(ours)” below and stay posted for more songs from the local hip-hop quartet.
