Scranton-to-Philadelphia transplants Three Man Cannon released their second LP on Lame-O records on November 6th. Last Thursday, the band put on a great show to celebrate, rounding out the bill with friends Thin Lips, Mimi, Like Prince and a collaboration set with Candice Martello and Augusta Koch.

Three Man Cannon’s new Will I Know You Then departs the band from their previous album Pretty Many People in a number of ways. In it, the bands steps away from the somber, fuzzy sound prevalent in their earlier work, noticeable on opening track “Honest.” The uplifting song starts with a bright instrumental and laces it with indie rock vibes; the singler “Gold or Silver” shares a lot of those same qualities. It’s definitely the most laid back song on the album, and complements the other songs quite nicely. Then there’s the album closer, “Now Nothing,” which clocks in just under eight minutes long. This song features beautiful instrumental work and really takes listeners on a journey. The band played their entire album during their album release show as fans, friends and family packed the venue to support the new album.

To start off the show Candice Martello (who preforms under the name Hemming) joined forces with Cayetana frontwoman Augusta Koch in an adorable display of best friend-ism. The two singers collaborated on each other’s songs as well as preforming their own new material. It was quite a good way to start the show. Next was Year of Glad front woman Mimi Gallagher. In a totally intimate performance, she preformed sitting at the end of the stage with nothing but a guitar. Like Candice and Augusta. Mimi also tried out some new songs on the audience. The final opener was Thin Lips, which put on a great performance, bringing tons of energy to the stage. They also announced that they will be releasing a new album in April.
