Philly indie rock faves DRGN King are going on hiatus for 2016 as its various bandmates and collaborators head into a busy year with a variety of other projects. Tonight, they play their last show for a while at Bourbon and Branch tonight with Mumblr and Mostly Only, and we’re expecting a full assortment of jams from 2014’s awesome Baltimore Crush and 2013’s equally awesome Paragraph Nights. Tickets and more information on the show can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar; listen to “Hazy Memories” below.

Over at Johnny Brenda’s, Weekender celebrates the release of its latest EP, Floaty Feeling, Blue, a spectral collection of heavy psych jams in the vein of The Charlatans, Teenage Fanclub and Jesus and Mary Chain. Listen to the opening track “Loving / Hating” below, and get more information on the show here.

Out in Ardmore, jam-rock four-piece HighKick plays the ninth annual Music for the Arts benefit concert. Proceeds from the show will be split between a Memorial Scholarship to University of the Arts and to breast cancer research organizations. Tickets and more information can be found here.
