Though they are no longer hosting shows at their West Philly DIY space, the folks of 502 South have continued to be crucial supporters and promoters of local music. They spread their love in a big way with the annual Philly Rock Comps CDs, and volume three has just been released for streaming on Bandcamp.
The comp highlights some of last year’s best tracks from two dozen local indie bands – this year’s jam-packed roster includes Hurry, Readership and The Sixties.
Several live release shows with the Philly Rock Comp acts have also been announced, kicking off with Teenage Bigfoot, Down With Homework, Seeing Snakes, Welter, Lamplighters and Science Club at The Pharmacy on January 30th, and continuing throughout the next couple of months at Kung Fu Necktie and Bourbon & Branch.
Stream the compilation below and check out a behind-the-scenes video; more information for the January 30th all-ages show can be found here.
