Carl Bahner, drummer of Philly indie-rock band Cheerleader, has released his own remix of Areoplane Mode‘s “Aphrodite”.

Released under the name “Bahner,” the mix takes the minimal pop of the original and takes it into the realm of house music while still emphasizing the soaring vocals of singer Jess Carvo. Bahner’s version grows off a steady bass pulse and jumping synths with samples of Carvo’s thrilling oohs and aahs.

Cheerleader may not have any upcoming shows, but Bahner is keeping busy. The club-ready track comes as the first of many remixes (of songs by Wild Party and Hippo Campus) that he plans on releasing soon. You can read an interview he did with A Music Blog, Yea? here.
