Philadelphia blues rockers Thee, Idea Men stopped by Sleepless Sound to record a session for the studio’s Red Room series.

The band, consisting of Matthew Jurasek (guitar, vocals), Tyler March (drums), Kris Pirnat (bass), and Matt Raspanti (guitar vocals), performed three hard-driving blues-rock numbers, two from 2014’s New Level Shoes and one from 2012’s Getcho Groo Von.

With “After Dark,” Thee, Idea Men push through a strong guitar-oriented groove embellished with dual solos. The band makes it seem easy as “I Know By Now” shifts from its minor-key jam origins to a sprawling dirge, and on “I Don’t Know I Can’t See”, the Men surge down a desert highway on the back of a rock-n-roll hurricane.

The band will be playing at MilkBoy this Thursday, February 4th, as part of Communion Music‘s monthly Philly.  There will also be performances from Allan Rayman, LOLO, Mothers, and a DJ set from The Key’s John Vettese. The show starts at 7:00 p.m. and tickets are $13 at the door. More information about that show here.
