That’s Life: Stream OhBree’s manic new EP, Feed Me Poison
Consequence of Sound has premiered the new EP, Feed Me Poison, from OhBree, the inventive Philadelphia jazz-punk collective known for their outrageous arrangements and ridiculous lyrical concepts.
Feed Me Poison, with its Dahl-esque album art, is the band’s most recent release since 2014’s Death By Broomstick. The band previously shared “Manfish”, the jubilant yet sporadic single that sounds like the nine piece band absorbed the phrase “third wave ska revival” and spun it on its fucking head.
These foul-mouthed children of punk rock go back and forth between the thoughtful (“C’est La Vie”) to the abstract (“Manfish”) to the just plain absurd (“Moon”). Also the fact that a song with the simple title of “Moon” follows one called “Does Your Ghost Haunt the Place You Die In Or Does It Go Home?” is just plain insane. Listen for yourself.
The band has two upcoming shows: the first, a Feed Me Poison EP release tomorrow night that will also serve as as a benefit for Presidential Candidate Bernie Sanders (with Birthday Ponies, dead, Fidel Sun, Howlish, and Mumblr) at Lavender Town, and the second at World Cafe Live on March 19th for the 3rd Planet Festival with Uncle/Father Oscar, Bombadil, and many more.
