David Gilmour was feeling his Pink Floyd roots last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live as he performed “Wish You Were Here.” Watch below, along with his new “Rattle That Lock.”

Mazzy Star’s Hope Sandoval has another album from her other band ready for lift-off. Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions is getting ready to put out their 1st new first album in 7 years-  the lead single of which, is a song called: “Isn’t It True.” The track will come out on Record Store Day on April 6th. The upcoming, as-yet-untitled album marks the 3rd for Hope Sandoval & The Warm Inventions. Mazzy Star’s last full-length album was 2013’s Seasons Of Your Day.


A big tribute concert honoring Big Star takes place on April 27th at the Alex Theatre in Glendale, CA.  Titled: “Thank you, friends: Big Star’s Third Live” will feature Wilco‘s Jeff Tweedy & Pat Sansone, R.E.M.‘s Mike Mills, Ira Kaplan of Yo La Tengo, Robyn Hitchcock, Jon Auer of The Posies, Mitch Easter of Let’s Active, Chris Stamey of the dB’s, Dan Wilson of Semisonic, Benmont Tench from Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers and Big Star’s sole surviving original member Jody Stephens .

Among the many Big Star classics to be performed will be the Third album in its entirety. The concert performers will be accompanied by full chamber orchestra along with the Kronos Quartet.  The entire concert will be recorded for a DVD to be released in the spring of 2017.
