Patti Smith is doing something special for Record Store Day this Saturday, April 16, 2016.

Last year on Record Store Day, Patti Smith performed her classic album Horses in its entirety at New York City’s Electric Lady Studios for a small crowd of fans. Now, a recording of that live performance is being made available on vinyl to purchase at participating retail outlets on Record Store Day this Saturday. Find out where at: recordstoreday.com

James Mercer and the Shins have teased some new music on Instagram.

Yesterday the band released its 2nd #shinstagram, with a clip of some previously unheard music…presumably meaning a new album is on the way. Since releasing Port of Morrow in 2012, The Shins have only released one new song: “So Now What”, which was written for the film Wish I Was Here in 2014. James Mercer, of course has kept himself busy with Broken Bells, his duo with Danger Mouse.
