Bob Boilen and the NPR Music Tiny Desk team swings through Philly tonight to celebrate the city’s 130+ submissions to the national Tiny Desk Contest. Performing are three stand-out artists from the ranks, including art-pop ensemble Tutlie, singer-songwriter Joy Ike and rapper The Bul Bey (who totally knocked out a performance at Sunday night’s benefit show for Beyond the Bars). Tickets are free with RSVP, so sign up here and see you tonight!

Georgia rocker Parker Gispert is perhaps best known as frontman of The Whigs, but he’s been striking out solo of late, and plays tonight at MilkBoy. Tickets and more information on the 21+ show canbe found at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Canadian indie rock faves Tokyo Police Club are back with a new EP, the cheekily-titled Melon Collie and the Infinate Radness, and they haven’t lost an ounce of energy since debuting almost ten years ago. Tonight, the band headlines Union Transfer; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Also Playing:

Giraffage at The TLA (8 p.m., free, all ages)
