Dublin folk / pop five piece Little Green Cars returned this spring with their sophomore album, Ephemera, and their tour in support of it comes to Union Transfer tonight; opening the gig is John Mark Nelson. The new music sees the band stretching its dynamic skill even further, with “The Song They Play Every Night” starting out quiet as a kitten and building to something rapturous. Listen to it below, and get more information at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Philly rockers Church Girls headline Ortlieb’s tonight, wrapping up their April residency at the Fishtown venue. Earlier this year, the band released Thousand Lives, its latest collection of gritty and spacious tracks centered around Mariel Baumont’s commanding voice. Listen to “Sink” below and get more information on the show here.

Philly roots rock soundscapers American Babies continue to gig in support of their latest LP, An Epic Battle Between Dark & Light. Tonight they headline The Abbey Bar in Harrisburg; tickets and more information can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Listen to “Synth Driver” below.
