The War On Drugs took over the world two years ago with their insanely great Lost In The Dream record and a lengthy tour, but they’ve been relatively quiet recently (minus the also insanely great Grateful Dead cover that was released last month.) During his own personal downtime, TWOD drummer Charlie Hall sat down with Punch‘s Drew Lazor to talk about booze, touring, music, and more booze.

Throughout the interview, Hall details how he came to Philadelphia, met War On Drugs vocalist Adam Granduciel, and even delves into his family’s secret whiskey sour recipe (one part lemonade concentrate, two parts whiskey, two parts light beer). He also discusses his mobile bar that he takes on tour with him and the Silver Ages – the cappella band he is in with members of fellow Philly bands Dr. Dog and mewithoutYou.

Hall mentioned that The War on Drugs recently began recording new music in Los Angeles (they were signed to Atlantic last year due to Lost In The Dream‘s success) – which has us psyched to know that new material is on the way.

Read the entire interview with Charlie Hall here. And watch The War On Drugs’ great performance at Best Kept Secret Festival in Holland below. Hall is the guy behind the kit.
