Listen to “Choke’ from Sarah M, opening for Abi Reimold tomorrow night
Abi Reimold has some great opening bands set for her release show tomorrow at Johnny Brenda’s, one of whom is her Fake Boyfriend bandmate Sarah M. The bass player / vocalist released Textbook last month, her first solo collection of ambient and beautifully somber songs. “Choke” is a warmly haunting centerpiece on the EP that pulls us in with floating vocals and a sparse bass while a guitar tremolos in the background.
While the original set of songs on Textbook featured Sarah on all instruments, she recently teamed up with drummer Will Kennedy for live shows. The pair just released a demo called “Small Frame” on Soundcloud, which gives an exciting glimpse of the direction Sarah’s recorded music could go in.
