Remote Places is the new solo project from Philadelphia musician / producer / collaborator Justin Geller, formerly of experimental electro group Pink Skull. He’ll be releasing his debut EP Nights and Weekends tonight, which includes 80s dream pop homage “It All Comes Back To You.”

The song has a miles-deep atmosphere of layered synths and drum machines that sucks you in while the love and empathy of the lyrics bubbles to the surface. It’s enveloping and all-encompassing, sending you deep in the same way The Church’s “Under the Milkyway Tonight” sends you into orbit.

To get that lush sound on the track (and across the EP), Geller pulled in an all-star local line-up of co-producer Jeff Zeigler, drummer Sean McGuinness (Pissed Jeans), guitarist Grefe (S PRCSS, Pink Skull), vocalist Mikele Edwards (Myrrias) and bassist Mike Hammel.

Remote Places celebrate the release of Nights and Weekends downstairs at Johnny Brenda’s tonight with DJ sets by many of the aforementioned album contributors. Tickets and information for the 21+ show can be found here. Listen to “It All Comes Back To You” below.
