Led by Brooklyn songwriter Lauren Denitzio, Worriers made a splash last year with their Don Giovanni Records debut Imaginary Life, produced by Laura Jane Grace of Against Me. Tonight, the band brings its pre-summer tour to Philly with a headlining gig at Kung Fu Necktie. Joining them is Mikey Erg who, technically, would be joining them anyway as he plays guitar in the band. But he’s got a great solo record out now (also on Don Giovanni) called Tentative Decisions, and plays an opening set of his own. Also on the bill are Philly’s Littler and Swanning; tickets and more information on the show can be found on the XPN Concert Calendar. Watch Worriers’ video for “Most Space” below.

Perennial funk / jazz favorite Maceo Parker makes his way back through the region this evening to headline World Cafe Live at the Queen. Back in the winter, he played a smokin’ set at Ardmore Music Hall; check out a recap here and get tickets and more information on tonight’s show here.

Parisan duo turned Philly duo Paloma Gil and Louise Hayat-Camard comprise The Dove and the Wolf, and after being welcomed to town last December with a Shaking Through session (watch below), the band polished off its dreamy EP I Don’t Know What To Feel and celebrates its release tonight at Johnny Brenda’s with Jesse Hale Moore. Tickets and more information on the show can be found here.
