To launch a new Philly-based global roots label called Fly Bottle Records, West Philadelphia Orchestra has reissued their 2008 debut studio album on Bandcamp. The recording of Balkan folk and brass band music features the original WPO line-up, many of whom are still in the band today (though the project has nearly doubled in size over the years).

In any genre it can be hard to translate the energy and personality of a live band onto a recording, but songs like “Gaeba Mai Ma Duc Acasa” and “Turmoil Hora” convey the sense of camaraderie that makes WPO concerts so special and outrageously fun.

Listen to those tracks below and see the band live tomorrow night at Panorama Artist Collective.
