Local rockers Strand of Oaks are taking part in an awesome FREE concert this afternoon in York, Pa., orchestrated by the Summer Art Market in York. The show will also feature New York’s Quilt, the psychedelic Boogarins and Big Thief on the York College Stage at Royal Square District. More info on this first-year event can be found right here; watch a video for Strand of Oaks’ “Same Emotions” below.

’90s alternative favorites Garbage take over The Fillmore this evening in support of their sixth studio album Strange Little Birds, released through the band’s own independent record label Stunvolume. Setlists from previous nights on tour look like the band plays an excellent mixture of their classic material as well as more recent tracks (hearing “I Think I’m Paranoid” and “Stupid Girl” back to back right at the beginning would probably cause tears and shrieking on my end.) Below, watch the video for the wildly successful 1995 single “Only Happy When It Rains,” that skyrocketed the band to fame. Tickets and more information can be found by checking out the XPN Concert Calendar.

If you can’t make the Summer Art Market in York this afternoon, you’ll still have another chance to see Big Thief tonight when they play at Boot and Saddle. The Brooklyn four-piece are embarking on a U.K. tour starting this fall so you won’t want to miss one of their last (fairly) local shows for awhile. Head on over to the XPN Concert Calendar for tickets and more info on the 21+ show and give a listen to Big Thief’s “Real Love” below.
