Philly rockers Delco Pacers channel the greatness of the rock underground of the 80s and 90s. On their new LP Bazaar Days, released this week via Bandcamp and on cassette, you’ll hear tones of Hüsker Dü, IRS-era R.E.M., Pavement and much more. “Luna” sets the pace (har, har) with a soaring melody and a memorable hook; the husky catharsis of “Yesterday” rides dynamic lows and high into a rumbling crescendo.

Vocalist and guitarist Jonathan Pitts has a wry inflection akin to Craig Finn of The Hold Steady, and his examination of the memory and emotion of suburban malaise will totally connect with anybody who vibes on Finn’s stories of the misfits on the banks of the Mississippi River.

Delco Pacers calls the record their stab at “looking back on the powerful emotions of youth, and the regrets and hopes that come with maturity,” and I totally feel that listening to it. Take Bazaar Days for a spin below, and pick up your copy over at Bandcamp.
