Onetime Philadelphian Carsie Blanton returns north from New Orleans this weekend with a new album, So Ferocious, in tow. Tonight she headlines Boot and Saddle; tickets and more information on the show can be found at the XPN Concert Calendar. Watch a music video for “Vim and Vigor” below and read K. Ross Hoffman’s interview with Carsie here.

It’s a night filled with fierce ladies of late 90s pop tonight at Wells Fargo Center; the Super Freestyle Explosion tour stacks Exposé, Stacey Q, The Original Cover Girls, Lisa Lisa, freaking Jody Watley and more. Rollerskate jams out the wazoo, I tell you. Jam out to Watley’s “Real Love” below and get tickets and more information on the show at the XPN Concert Calendar.

Honorary Philadelphians El Caribefunk hail from Colombia but have made a huge impact on the regional music scene between frequent house concerts and appearances at the Philadelphia Folk Festival over the past couple years. Tonight, they play the official Folk Fest after party (like way after, haha) at Ardmore Music Hall. Tickets and more information on this awesome show can be found here.
