Recent Philly transplants We Have Ghosts bring new EP to Kung Fu Necktie

Illinois-born outfit We Have Ghosts are settling nicely into their new home. The two-piece made the move to Philadelphia at the start of the summer after building their band for a couple of years in Champaign-Urbana, and now that they have a few local shows under their belt they’ll be making an appearance Kung Fu Necktie tomorrow night.

The move also came shortly after releasing their latest effort EP2. Pressing play on the four-track collection opens up a world of swathy arrangements that are both calming and haunting, recalling the somber tones of Yo La Tengo filtered through glistening dream pop on “Summer” and reaching a more post-punk vibe on the expansive “Close.”
