Green Day has announced a new world tour which will include a stop at the Tower Theater in Upper Darby, PA on September 29th.
Green Day’s tour of North America and Europe will coincide with the release of their 12th studio album, Revolution Radio, which the band self-produced and comes out on October 7th.
Lead singer Billie Joe Armstrong told Rolling Stone:
“This time I just wanted to feel the freedom of just depending on ourselves and getting in a room. There’s no in-between person, and we’re forced to sort of be in there with each other. Tre’s drumming on this record is I think the best he’s ever done,” Armstrong continued. “I could say the same with Mike’s bass playing.”
In addition to the 9/29 show at the Tower Theater other area Green Day tour stops include:
September 28 – Sayreville, NJ @ Starland Theater
September 01 – Boston, MA @ House of Blues
October 03 – Washington, DC @ 9:30 Club
October 08 – New York, NY @ Webster Hall
Pixies singer Black Francis says he’s finished recording any more solo work. His last release outside of Pixies was 2011’s Paley & Francis. he told Rolling Stone that he can’t see himself doing any more solo records.
It just doesn’t feel right. It kind of goes up against my more blue-collar outlook. And I paint. If I have extra creative energy, I try to direct it there. And that doesn’t interfere with my musical career.”
Yesterday the Pixies surprised fans by releasing the video for their new tune- “Tenement Song.”
