The Kimmel Center‘s monthly Sittin’ In is back, this time featuring Philadelphia based spoken word / recording artist Ursula Rucker. Rucker will lead her “Supa Sista Presents” band through the live jam session, perhaps giving a preview of the record she’s been working on. More information for the free event can be found here; listen to “Supa Sista” below.

Doubles hit the stage at Boot & Saddle tonight as late additions to the Ian Sweet Show. The Philly outfit, formerly known as O-Face, was tapped by The Key’s Rachel Del Sordo as a band to watch this year. Proving that that was an astute pick, Doubles recently shared a breezy new song called “Physical Ephemeral” – get into that below, and pick up tickets for the 21+ show here.

New York jazz punk band Sunwatchers perform at Johnny Brenda’s tonight in support of this year’s self-titled LP. Led by an alto sax, the droning and spiraling songs of Sunwatchers are a distillation of Eastern and Western sounds that are both jarring and comforting. Listen to “Eusubius” below and pick up tickets for the 21+ show here.

Also playing:

Bruce Springsteen at Citizens Bank Park (7:30 p.m., all ages, $68-150)
